Juliette + Ben Engagement

Juliette and Ben are getting married in less than 2 short months!  We had to reschedule our session from last week (since I had the flu.. yuck) and we were lucky to get a fairly nice afternoon with no rain or SNOW! Even on Friday the 13th! ;)

We are looking forward to their wedding in January...first wedding of the 2010 season.  I can't believe how fast that is coming up... and I'm sure Juliette can't either.

Trade in those old lights!

It's just about time to start putting up holiday decorations... time to untangle and risk life and limb putting those strings of lights up on our roofs.  If you haven't made the switch yet to LED or solar lights yet, I just found out that Home Depot is running a special this week... you can bring in strings of old or broken incandescent lights and for each string (up to 5) that you bring in, you'll get $3 off a new string of LED lights!  Cool!

Why would you do this?  Well, although personally my favorite Christmas lights are the old ceramic kind, those use up electricity like there's no tomorrow.  (And we're all banking on the idea that there WILL be a tomorrow!)  LED lights use about 80% less energy than their incandescent counterparts.  Solar lights use 100% less energy!

All of our outdoor holiday lights are solar or LED lights on a timer.  Maybe I can bring in some old lights this week so my indoor lights can be LED as well.  Saving money and the environment at the same time!

Avery... 6 months!

Sweet little Avery is six months old already!  She's such a mellow little girl... no crying for this one! :)  It's fun to see her grow and watch her personality blossom.

It got me...

Josh stayed home sick Monday through Wednesday of this week with the flu.  Last night when I got home I felt kind of tired, so I popped in a movie and laid down (which I never do).  By the time the movie was over I knew that the flu had got me too. (That's what you get from laying down and watching movies instead of working.) 

So, I am rescheduling all of my sessions for the rest of the week and weekend, and I may not be super speedy at answering calls or emails until I recover.  Thanks for understanding!

Rachel + Adam 10.24.09

Last weekend we had the privilege of shooting our good friends Adam and Rachel's wedding!  We were excited for this wedding because Adam and Rachel are so fun and cute together, and we got to see our group of friends from college who have since dispersed around the region.  :)

These two did a great job planning this wedding... and it was gorgeous and totally fun despite the rain and Rachel being barely over the flu.   Emotions and excitement was high all throughout the day, and we were so happy to be a part of it all.

The bride and groom had their first look on the garden roof of the Hotel Donaldson, and were quickly whisked away to their ceremony at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Moorhead, MN.  After a beautiful ceremony (including the couple's signature high-five after their first kiss and husband and wife) everyone headed out to the Avalon Event Center in downtown Fargo to celebrate.

Landyn 2010

Landyn is a senior at Fargo South High who likes cars and photography!   He hopes to become a small engine mechanic after graduating... and everyone likes to be friends with a mechanic! ;)

Though his parents call him the "rebel" of the family, Landyn is a super nice guy and we had fun exploring around downtown to find some fun places for pictures.  Thanks for a fun session Landyn!  Enjoy what's left of your senior year and best of luck in the future!

Yay for wedding season 2009!

This past Saturday we shot our last wedding of 2009. We had a great year of weddings, with so many fantastic clients.  Thank you and congratulations to all of our newlyweds!  

Josh and I are looking forward to a couple months off before our next wedding in January.  It will be fun to sleep in on a Saturday morning! ;)  Although wedding season 2009 is over, we're still not slowing down just yet... lots of engagement, senior and family sessions still on the way! 

Here is an image from our last 2009 wedding... the wedding of our friends Rachel & Adam!  (Aren't they cute!?)  And yes... those are bras in the background.  They were hanging on the Hotel Donaldson for their annual Bras on Broadway Benefit Auction.  Couldn't not take a picture with those in the background. ;)
